Fresno & Clovis Unified School District
Clovis, California
The Center for Advanced Research and Technology (C.A.R.T.) was developed through an innovative collaboration between two school districts, higher education, the business community and the government. C.A.R.T. is a solution to the community’s need for advanced training in the areas of technology.
The project included reconstruction of an existing 64,692 square foot metal manufacturing/warehouse building and basement into 11 laboratory classrooms.
S.I.M. Architects teamed up with tBP Architecture as the Associate Architect on the project, providing design assistance and construction administration services. C.A.R.T., completed in the Spring of 2000, received a 1999 Award of Excellence from the Coalition of Adequate School Housing.
