S.I.M. Architects was organized in 1987, by partners John Smith, David Iwanaga and John Milhous. The partners, each registered architects and graduates of California Polytechnic State University, formed the firm some four years after their respective graduations. In the years prior to the formation of S.I.M., each had gained a range of complementary experience in architectural design and project management. Since its founding, S.I.M. has developed further the experience of the partners in institutional, municipal and private sector projects. Today, the firm serves a wide variety of clients including State and Federal agencies, municipalities and school districts, corporations, health care providers, financial institutions, residential and commercial developers, country clubs and retailers. Currently the firm employs ten professionals based in Fresno, California. From their Central Valley location, S.I.M. has completed work throughout the state. In the firm's fourteen year history, S.I.M. has achieved growth and diversity due in part to the continued confidence of its clients. These clients, many of whom have worked with the firm since its beginning, continue to rely on the firm for its expertise in project design and delivery. Proven management techniques enable S.I.M. to bring projects in on time and within budget. The most consistent and telling aspect of S.I.M.'s success is that over 80% of its business is the result of repeat clients and their references. The firm has developed longstanding, productive relationships with local clients because it focuses on their concerns and finds solutions to their problems. The foundation for these relationships is based on trust, shared responsibility and mutual respect.
