Valliwide Bank
Madera, CA.

The new branch for Valliwide Bank was the first free-standing facility the bank had done in over ten years. For this reason and because of the conservative nature of the local clientele, great care was taken in arriving at all an image the bank should evoke. The 6,000 S.F. building fits
comfortably onto its one acre site while
addressing the needs of the pedestrian access from the main street and walk-up teller directed towards the parking lot. The building's prairie styling, with its low, broad overhang and brick wainscoting blends nicely with the neighboring residents.

The interior is arranged around a barrel-vault ceiling connecting the front and rear entry doors. Its rich but simple detailing was meant to feel comfortable, durable and inviting. The open floor plan lends itself to the "open door" policy maintained by this local bank.
