Santa Ynez High School Science Building
Santa Ynez, CaliforniaThe new Science Building at Santa Ynez High School was designed as a state-of-the-art 14,000 s.f. facility that features six large classrooms / labs, a computer workroom, a large teacher's prep. room and storage areas, and six teacher's office areas.
The most visual feature of the building is the sixty-foot clock tower. The tower was designed to be a symbol and focal point for the entire campus. The four clocks on the tower can be seen from anywhere on the campus. Fiber optic lighting was used to illuminate the clock faces at night with a choice of different colors. The post-modern design compliments the school's original architecture yet shows that it is a new building with contemporary shapes. |
