ARBOR FAIRE SHOPPING CENTER
Fresno, CA.
When S.I.M. Architects was commissioned to design a significant
300,000 square foot shopping center on Fresno's rapidly developing West
Shaw Ave, it was to be the largest development of its kind built in the
past decade. The center, which serves as home for Mervyn's, Home Express,
Home Depot, PetsMart, Blockbuster Video, Clothes Time, See's Candies and
others is designed around simple carefully proportioned canopies and
facades. The concept was to intentionally avoid many of the faddish
elements and decorations found on many centers today to give Arbor Faire a
classical, timeless appeal.
